Volunteer Opportunities

We're happy you came to check out this page! Being a presently all-volunteer, non-profit organization means that sometimes we really need to reach out for help. What this means for us is that we can dedicate time to the administrative details and share the fun of meeting wonderful 'Arc' people and families who participate with you!

This form will allow you to tell us what fits. Volunteering is a great way to have meaningful involvement in the community and, for many, may be a good fit for community service. We will contact you as plans begin for various needs.

Please check the boxes that pertain to your interests. If you'd like to submit forms both as an individual and on behalf of an organization, please complete and submit separately.

Day camp staff; please indicate:

 Educator      Therapist      Nurse      College Student
 High School Student      Peer buddy (elementary to middle school aged)
 Kitchen / snack prep      Parade assistance (e.g. to help construct a float)

Dinner / auction fundraiser; please indicate:

 Contact a segment of local business donors
 Organize / package auction items
 Distribute promotional fliers in given locations
 Help decorate and set up for event
 Help serve event dinner
 Help with related mailings

Family events; please indicate:

 Help with related mailings
 Day-of-event help with food, drinks, behind-the-scenes efficiencies to allow The Arc members
and families to mingle with other families (appropriate for an adult or college-aged group)
 Set up or clean up assistance

Regular Arc meeting night assistance; please indicate:

 Two-hour childcare for Arc members at meeting site  

Dances; please indicate:

 Help with decorating St. Martin's hall in Yorkville
 Not really a volunteer activity—but I'd like to be notified of the dances for a fun evening out.
 Clean up after dances

Group Respite Care evenings; please indicate:

 Organized / trained group (with proper background checks in place)
 Interested individual (requiring background check) for potential Arc-organized evening
